Letโs learn more about all the milestones achieved by your baby by this age.
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT - According to the experts, the average height of the baby should be 72.4cm- 81.5cm and the average weight should be 8.0kg-12.1kg. The growth and development of every child are different and there is nothing to worry about if your child is standing approximately in these criteria. If you find anything suspicious then you must seek medical help. The physical development of the child can be as follows:
-Your baby can now sit and stand on his/her own.
-Your baby will try to walk while holding your hand or taking the support of a furniture piece.
-Your baby will laugh out loud if you keep teaching him/her the gestures of goodbye (waving hands), clapping, or playing peek-a-boo with him/her.
-The ability of your baby to firmly hold the small objects would have become much better now whether it is holding a crayon, pencil, or a coin.
COGNITIVE & LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT - Your baby is trying to absorb a lot of information from his/her surroundings. Your baby has also learned how to express himself/herself adorably while getting angry or feeling surprised. Your baby is now able to understand your small verbal commands and will react to them accordingly. Along with these:
-Your baby is now able to speak โmamaโ and โpapaโ.
-If your baby wants to have something he/she will point it out with his/her fingers. Whenever your baby would like to play outside h/she will point toward the park or other kids playing outside.
-Your baby has now learned to say โNOโ and will use it frequently whether they understand its correct usage or not.
SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT - By this age, your baby will understand his/her emotions and feelings of others in a much better way. If your baby is feeling something then he/she will express it completely for instance:
-Separation anxiety will haunt your baby and he/she will tend to get cranky easily even if you go to the washroom also.
-Your baby would love to play with his/her toys alone sometimes.
-Your baby will start throwing tantrums whenever h/she feels stressed or anxious.
-Your baby will laugh out aloud when everyone in the room is laughing or whenever he/she feels amused.
BEHAVIOUR, FOOD & NUTRITION, AND SLEEPING PATTERN - You have to be a little more patient and tolerant with your little munchkin because he/she is trying to understand and absorb all the information of the surroundings. Many times, your baby will find it difficult to react when he/she is unable to understand the situation. If you notice that your baby is feeling cranky or throwing tantrums then you should comfort your baby by loving and cuddling him/her. Most kids are picky eaters/fussy eaters by this age and it is your responsibility to feed your baby a nutritious diet. For the proper growth and development of the child, it is important to offer 3 full meals + 2 snacks and full-fat milk to your baby. You must offer a variety of healthy meals to your baby and donโt forget to include more fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits in it.
