The vehicle is notable for two things: its ability to split into a mini-sub and glider, and its odd use of a Macross Valkyrie VF-1 robot chest part in the mold. First released in 1987 and re-released in 1988 by Hasbro, it was available for mail-order in 1991 - but without the figure, which was never available outside the original retail releases.
