| Video Discription | The results of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination have been released. Dinuka Krishan of Harischandra College, Negombo claimed first place in the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam with 198 marks. 352,462 sat the Grade Five Scholarship Examination held in August. W.K. Dinuka Krishan Kumar of Harishchandra Maha Vidyalaya in Negombo claimed the first place scoring 198 marks. The Examinations Department said that two students has secured the second place obtaining 197 marks. They are M.A.M. Indumina Jayaratne of the Welipillewa Junior School within the Gampaha Mahara Division and T.M. Sanjana Nayanajith Tennekoon of the Tulhiriya Junior School in Kegalla. The third place in the Grade Five Scholarship Examination has been secured by D.A. Thurul Sahan Dharmaratne of the Kirillawala Primary School within the Gampaha Mahara Division. It is noteworthy that 12 students have secured the fourth place in the results issued. The Grade Five scholarship examination was conducted on the 20th of August this year. The cut off marks of each of the Districts have also been released. Accordingly the highest cut off marks of the Sinhala medium for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala and Kegalla Districts is 164. The minimum cut off marks for the Hambanthota and Ratnapura is 162. The cut off marks for the Vavuniya District is 161. The cut off marks in the Tamil medium for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala and Kegalla Districts is 156. The Examinations Department said that appeals for re-correction could be submitted through the respective school principals, before the 20th of October. jtGazNBUchU |
