| Video Discription | I just upgraded from an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X to a Ryzen 9 5900X. I did some before and afters in Cinebench R20, Cinebench R23, and 3DMark TimeSpy CPU. In hindsight, I should have done more! But here you go anyway. If you're wondering if you should spend the money on upgrading, you will feel it in both (CPU-bound) games and media productivity tasks. For example, even in GTA Online running at 1440p my FPS was more consistent right off the bat with the 5900X. In 1440p gains are less likely than in 1080p. However, in the Vinewood Blvd. section of the map, I was getting between 100-110 FPS over and back on the 5900X vs. ~90 with drops to nearly 60 in some spots of the street on the 3700X in busyish sessions. You'll notice GTA Online vs. GTA V Story that the latter is tougher to run. I believe the CPU has to work that bit harder in GTA Online. Again, in hindsight, I should have recorded before and after footage of this. Also, it's worth mentioning that the GTA Definitive Edition games still run like crap! But, hey, what ya gonna do?!
