During this time, Rome's economy was revived by Vespasian's reforms, which also included the building of the Colosseum. Titus, his capable son, took over as emperor after Vespasian, but his untimely death cut his reign short. Titus' younger brother, Diocletian took the reins and he was characterized by growing despotism along with many infrastructural achievements. The Flavian dynasty maintained the Roman economy, wealth, and order despite the controversial reign of the last emperor, Domitian.
