That said, here’s the Technics SH-8055 in silver, and my first question, why didn’t they sell 10x more of these? It has everything an analog audiophile would want, into the 1990’s. And apparently this model was not available after the mid-1980s. Paired tonight with a terrible millennium silver Denon AVR-2805 receiver, which was a neighborhood porch pickup. This EQ screams and bleeds 80s - it’s sexy VFD shows you everything needed. And has a microphone calibration function - a well respected and a proper way to calibrate your system. Today, most digital Dolby receivers do this for you but there’s a uniqueness to this way of doing it which feels so much more rewarding. And it needs a 3D Technics logo - why were they so discreet!
