The halfway down step was our little space of calm and independence. A.A. Milne (1882–1956) was an English author and poet. He is most famous for his Winnie the Pooh books and for his childrens' poems featuring Christopher Robin. His first book of poems was called When We Were Very Young (first published in 1924) and this poem is from that anthology. 'Halfway Down' by A.A. Milne Halfway down the stairs Is a stair Where I sit.
