At 40 years old, I decided it was time for a career change. I'm going back to nursing school! I feel like many things lined up perfectly in life and our family, so I'm taking this opportunity to try something new. My youngest daughter, Raelynn, has several medical complications. Among other things, she has epilepsy and quadriplegic cerebral palsy. As a result of being her mom, I've learned that I actually kind of enjoy the medical field. I've learned to use all sorts of medical equipment such as suction machines, shaker vests, nebulizers, etc. I've also taken care of PICC lines, given shots, dressed many wounds, and a host of other things. I've learned a lot of medical lingo along the way, so much that I've sometimes been confused for already being a nurse when I've been in hospitals with my daughter! It's going to be a challenge to go back to school, but I'm determined to make it happen!
