He says, "If you fundamentally, as a founder, believe in ESOP, believe in creating wealth for your founders, you should create a friendly policy. Otherwise, it is okay not to have an ESOP programme. That extreme is also fine - pay just cash compensation. But if you believe in the concept then create a program which is not a bait-and-switch. Let's say you have a 3-month or 6-month hold period, it is bait-and-switch. I have given ESOPs to 670 employees and not a single one of them organically asked me about the hold period.
