Effects of Acid Rain on Plants Acid rain is very harmful to trees and plants. It weakens them by washing off the essential nutrients and minerals from the soil. It wipes off the protective layer on leaves and stunts growth. Harmful for Aquatic Wildlife As the acid rain changes the pH level of acid in the streams or #lakes, aquatic wildlife tends to die. Acidic rainwater leaches the aluminum from soil clay particles, which then flow into the stream. Dangerous for Terrestrial Animals Acid rain changes the #composition of water bodies, making them unfit for local people and terrestrial animals.
