What was once a well kept secret a few years amongst surfers and bohemians escaping the over-developed tourist areas of Seminyak and Kuta, has exploded in worldwide renown, attracting nomads from all over the world looking for their slice of hedonistic paradise by the beach. After living in Canggu for two years, I finally left. I'm still living in Bali, but moved to a quieter neighborhood with mostly locals and long-term expats.
