| Video Discription | I headed down to Southampton, Pennsylvania this week to do some training with Steve Austin, black belt instructor at Sion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Got lots of great self-defense and sport based BJJ training, and also some great rolling with Steve and his guys. Steve showed me something he does to make an "old school" jiu-jitsu technique work for him. The scissor sweep is usually learned at white belt, but sometimes abandoned in favor of "higher percentage" sports style sweeps. Well, as I learned, it all works, and Steve's strategy is specifically designed to work against more experienced grapplers.
