| Video Discription | In Episode 8 of "Raising Resilience,” authors Dr. Josh Spitalnick and Marti Munford, LPC review tips 19 and 20, addressing the impact OCD and anxiety have on other family members, especially siblings. Openly discussing your child’s anxiety, putting an accurate name to the struggles, and finding support for you, the caregiver, and for other family members in the home are all ways to improve family functioning. This episode also addresses the importance of encouraging healthy actions in your anxious child, actions that are opposite, or paradoxical, to what anxiety or OCD wants. As long as the action is inherently safe, any brave action that encourages your child to go towards fear is a success! This video series, by Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta, is designed to offer support and validation, practical tips, and helpful resources for parents and caregivers of anxious children and children with OCD.
