| Video Discription | A solo Bharatanatyam Debut Arangetram (24 June 2023) Nadhirah's Arangetram was presented by ASK Dance Company in collaboration with The Temple of Fine Arts KL Under the guidance of Shri Shankar Kandasamy, the late Shrimathi Shyamala Narayanan, Vishaka Devi, Shonabushani Velusamy, and Purnima Segaran. Pushpanjali & Alarippu The dancer begins her journey with a flower offering to invite auspiciousness and blessings from the Divine, Lord Ganesha is invoked in a Shloka describing his various attributes, imploring Him as remover of obstacles to bless her entire journey. Progressing from the invocation, the dancer commences with the traditional Alarippu. Alarippu literally means 'to blossom' and refers to the limbering of the entire body in preparation for the more complex items follow. Crafted with images of Shiva and laced with the Shiva Panchakshara Stotram as a background. Puspanjali and Alarippu is set to a garland of different Ragas and Talas.
