| Video Discription | Unlike many other types of shrimp species, Bamboo shrimp do not usually exhibit omnivorous feeding habits which means you may not see them eating certain types of pellet foods, their own molt or even dead tank mates. In order for them to thrive, providing them with powdered food is the best way to go. When it comes to feeding Bamboo Shrimp, I provide them a few varieties of powdered food. The first two are fish flakes and algae wafers that I grind up and mix together. I also provide them with Bacter AE and Shrimp Baby which are micro powdered foods. When I do maintenance on my tank, I’ll run my hands through the plants to shake off any debris that might have collected on them. I even stir up the substrate a bit and brush off the hardscape. All of this introduces more organic particles into the water column for them to feed on. When I clean out my filter, small particles also get released back into the tank for them to eat. You want to ensure you feed your shrimp a proper diet, especially foods that contain a good amount of calcium as this mineral is key to helping them molt successfully.
