| Video Discription | Trying out another slip jig, this time in B minor. I am finding the tendency that I think a lot of beginners find themselves up against, that being the urge to speed up. It’s hard when everything you see out there is so fast to not feel that if your not playing at least half that speed then you don’t measure up. But I also find that tends to come ate the expense of a good Irish swing feel to the tune at least for me anyway. So this tune I am trying to focus on feel rather than speed. I’m not sure I picked the best song for that but it was a good exercise to really pay attention to the accents, staccato and such. Focusing on just one thing in a practice is a great way to improve. These daily postings are my way of trying to get better at Irish Tenor Banjo. I have challenged myself to play a new tune each day out of the Banjo Buddy’s Big Book of 365 Irish Tunes.
