Although Bannu is surrounded by rugged and dry mountains, it is a fertile place, and early English visitors had been known to refer to it as a "paradise". Bannu is a district in the Bannu Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, bordering North Waziristan to the northwest, Karak to the northeast, Lakki Marwat to the southeast, and South Waziristan to the southwest. The major industries of Bannu are cloth weaving, sugar mills and the manufacturing of cotton fabrics, machinery and equipment. The district forms a basin drained by the Kurram and Gambila, or Tochi rivers, which originate in the hills of Waziristan. The video-documentary begins with an overview of Bannu city and hustle and bustle of people and vehicles in the bazar. The beautiful structure of a monument in the main Chowk (square), the magnificent mosque minaret, the frying parthas, fresh and juicy fruits, making and packing of snuff and spices are eye-catching sights. Then comes the making process of Bannu Painda or Sobat dish. The Painda or Sobat is one of the traditional dishes of southern districts including Bannu, Lakki Marwa and Karak. In some areas, it is called Painda whereas in other places it is known as Sobat. Not only because of its taste, the dish is also famous for the style in which it is served.
