| Video Discription | Bastrop is a small town about 30 miles from Austin. It's got a nice strip of restaurants and breweries and places featuring live music. It's part of Central Texas and has a bit more of a conservative vibe. People shoot guns and they eat meat and they sometimes eat meat that they shot with their guns. They call themselves "hip, not weird." The downtown area has a number of popular places for music, including Copper Shot Distillery, 602 Brewing Company, Bastrop Beer Company, and Neighbors Kitchen & Yard. Neighbors is known for great food and it overlooks the Colorado river. The Bastrop 1832 Farmers Market was happening on this Saturday and just across the way was the Bastrop Art Fest at the Lost Pines Art Center (every first Saturday). I had a gig up the road a bit at the Loebau Store, where they noted that many folks were away because it was the first day of hunting season. The Astros also won the world series. Good times.
