| Video Discription | Chana Masala is a very popular dish made of Chickpeas simmered in spicy & tangy gravy. Though this Recipe has originated from Punjab but, this dish is extremely popular throughout Bengal. Tomato paste, Cashew nut paste & a little amount of Deshi Ghee (Clarified butter) adds a heavenly touch to this recipe. We have tried to replicate the Chana Masala recipe usually prepared in Bengali Biyebaris (Marriage parties). You can have it with Luchi, Paratha, Roomali Rooti or Tandoori Rootis. With a pinch of pickle & chopped onions it tastes WOW! We have used Kabuli Chickpeas here but, you can use Deshi Chickpeas too. Remember! to soak Chickpeas in Salt-water, otherwise it won’t taste the same as it usually does. Per serving (30-grams) of Chickpeas provides the following nutrients: • Calories: 46 • Carbs: 31 grams • Fiber: 2 grams • Protein: 3 grams • Folate: 12% of the RDI • Iron: 4% of the RDI • Phosphorus: 5% of the RDI • Copper: 5% of the RDI • Manganese: 14% of the RDI Chickpeas contain a moderate amount of calories and several vitamins and minerals.
