TOP ROLEX SUBMARINER ALTERNATIVES
The Rolex Submariner is one of the most iconic luxury watches in the world. From James Bond in the 007 franchise to many of your favorite celebrities, musicians, athletes, and other public figures, almost everyone who is anyone has been spotted with the famous Rolex Submariner on their wrists.
The collection came to market in the 1950s and is Rolex’s signature professional series dive watch.
It’s distinguished by a waterproof Oyster case with a 1,000-foot depth rating, a Perpetual movement with automatic winding technology, a luminous display on the dial, and a 60-minute diver’s bezel.
Rolex produces the Submariner with or without a date mechanism, in steel, two-tone, or all gold, and various bezel and dial color combinations.
Furthermore, the Submariner is currently 41mm. However, that wasn’t always the case. Before 2020, the Submariner measured 40mm in diameter.
ORIS AQUIS
The Aquis is Oris’ signature professional series dive watch. It features a similar design set as the Submariner but with a much more attractive price tag.
You get a lot of watch for your money with the Aquis, so we aren’t surprised to see it at the top of Watch Gringa’s list.
Features include the same 1,000-foot depth rating as the Submariner, a uni-directional time-lapse bezel, and a self-winding movement.
Brittany finds the Aquis a bit chunky on the wrist, but that only adds to its tool watch charm, and we couldn’t agree more.
Our collection includes case sizes ranging from 36mm to 46mm, rubber, metal, or leather bracelets, and several dial color options:

Oris Diver’s 65
The Oris Diver’s Sixty-Five is a neo-vintage watch modeled after a successful Oris dive watch from the 1960s.
Just like a genuine vintage watch, it features a crown without guards, a similar font on the bezel, identical hour markers and hands, and even a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a retro domed shape and Superluminova material in a faux patina hue.
It perfectly embodies the charm and character of a vintage watch while using modern watchmaking materials.
The collection features countless design set options to suit any wrist, including steel, bronze, and even two-tone steel and bronze:

Tudor Black Bay 58
Next is another vintage-inspired dive watch, the Tudor Black Bay 58.
This collection is stunning! It also happens to be Brittany’s favorite Submariner alternative.
Retro elements include a crown without guards and even a provocative rivet link bracelet, depending on the reference.
It offers a similar value proposition as Oris, pairing quality craftsmanship and reliable movements with a mid-level price tag.

Breitling SuperOcean Heritage
Continuing with Watch Gringa’s love for the heritage dive watch aesthetic, we have the striking Breitling SuperOcean Heritage.
The SuperOcean is currently taking the market by storm with a refreshed design. But today, we turn our attention to the Heritage selection, complete with a modern movement and a 70-hour power reserve.
It’s an excellent alternative to the Submariner with a quirkier aesthetic and much more affordable price point.

Omega Seamaster
We round out our list with another James Bond dive watch, the Omega Seamaster.
A few of its most notable signature features include the iconic wave dial, scalloped bezel, and Cyclops-free date display.
On the other hand, the Omega also features a few controversial elements, such as the Helium Escape Valve and a somewhat busier bracelet.
Quirks aside, it is a truly exceptional dive watch worthy of taking the place of the mighty Submariner.
