Such a Christian ought to live in joy, soaring above the common trials and troubles of the world. When your sins are forgiven, you can face any life situation with a peaceful heart. As Martin Luther boldly expressed, "Strike, Lord, strike, for my sin is forgiven; if You have but forgiven me, strike as hard as You will." Embrace joy and gratitude as a saved Christian; hold fast to the cross that took away your sins; serve Him who served you. In response to the mercies of God, present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him. This is your reasonable service! Do not let your passion dissipate in momentary outbursts of song. Show your love in tangible expressions. Love the siblings of Him who loved you. If there is anyone in need, extend a helping hand. If a fellow believer is struggling, weep with them and bear their burdens—all for the sake of Him who wept for you and carried your burdens. Take this joy of forgiveness and share it with others. Spread the joyful news of pardoning mercy; do not keep this invaluable blessing to yourself! Let your cheerful holiness be a sermon to others, and let the world be your pulpit. Lord, let Your work be our joy. Grant us the grace to serve You with cheerful holiness. Empower us to bear witness of Your mercy and love.
