The march was led by Assam Students' Union chief advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya. Holding bamboo torches, placards and posters, the massive crowd raised slogans against the Government. Samujjal Bhattacharya during the protest called CAA to be communal, unconstitutional, anti-India, anti-northeast. Notably, Union Home Ministry on March 11 notified rules for implementation of CAA days ahead of LS Polls 2024.
