Either it is by phacoemulsification through a micro incisional cataract surgery or a manual small incision cataract surgery. The recovery time depends upon the type of surgery. The phacoemulsification with micro incisional cataract surgery recovers faster as micro incisional cataract surgery as compared to a small incisional cataract surgery. The most important tips that one needs to follow post-surgery is do not allow water to enter the body that is do not take head bath or do not wash your face so that water can enter the eye . Do not sleep on the operated side. Do not lift heavy weights and do not bend and cause the increase in pressure inside the head always wear protective glasses during the day time and protective shields before going to bed because as the cataract incision heals, one may find some amount of itching or irritation. One can start watching TV or computer from day 2, but to a limited extent. Do not overstrain. Eat healthy food. Do not constipate and cause straining while passing stools.
