Crypto markets have actually been remarkably resilient over the past few months. What do I mean by that? Chainalysis has built many indicators to track the health and define the structure of crypto markets. Everything from wealth distribution to market liquidity are available to us because of the transparency of the blockchain. The WSJ reached out to us to understand how to measure the severity of this recent crash. As we updated all of our market metrics, we saw that many of the market fundamentals actually remained stable over the past few months. Let's take a closer look at three key indicators: wallet age, wealth distribution and liquidity. --- While we recognize that many traders were badly burned these past few months, we can’t help but conclude that the contagion did not cause fundamental changes in how the market is structured. While those who faced margin calls were forced to sell, many long term holders continued to hold and didn’t actually take a loss.
