Everyone is faced with challenges. Everyone. What makes the difference between winners and losers is how they see the situation. Perspective is everything. It determines life or death. I’ve touched on this topic many times in the past and I will continue to touch on this. Unhappy people make other people unhappy. I am trying prevent that from happening by making as many people as happy as possible. To be “happy” is the freedom to be yourself and to do what you want to do in life. It’s not just money--money is just a side effect of doing those things. What is it that sets the successful people apart from the unsuccessful ones? I am so tired of hearing that “bad luck”, “genetics”, or “they knew the right people” as a response to that question! Those are the excuses from the people that don’t want to take responsibility for their situation. Almost all successful people out there--the really successful ones-- they started with nothing and worked their way up. They could have had all of the excuses in the world. They all ran into challenges and should have given up but they didn’t. The big difference between the successful ones and the unsuccessful ones is this: What do you see? What you see determines the outcome of your life. Do you see challenges, problems, or the negative side of everything? Or, do you see the creative challenge, potential, possibility, or the chance that maybe you could do something a little different. That’s what all of the successful people did! They said “Hm, well, this isn’t working! I am going to try something a little bit different. Instead of listening to other people, I am going to try it my way.” It’s people with that attitude that started their own company, created a new device, a new invention, a new way of doing things. Even if it’s just someone at home that has found a new way to solve a problem. It doesn’t matter how big or small the situation is. It’s how you SEE the situation that makes the difference. So what do you see? Do you see a problem or do you see potential? Do you see an opening or a chance for something to be done differently? If you do--try it! If it doesn’t work--try something else! Keep trying until you find something that works! For example, two people may be in a jail cell. One person may look around and only notice the bars in the cell. Another person may look around and say “Hey, okay. I’m in a jail cell but look, the door is unlocked! The door is open!” The first person sees a jail cell and immediately gives up, closing themselves off to all opportunity. The second person stays positive, checks around, and sees that the door is unlocked. There is always an unlocked door, a way out, and a creative answer to any problem! Always. Even if that means the solution is something crazy that’s never been done before. So how do you see life? What you see determines the outcome.
