Founding Day, which commemorates Imam Mohammed bin Saud's founding of the first Saudi state and Saud dynasty on in 1727, was declared a national holiday last year by King Salman bin Abdulaziz who issued a royal decree. From February 22 onwards, cultural and artistic events are held across the kingdom, including at Al Nassr's Mrsool Park.
