| Video Discription | As my username suggests, I'll turn 50, later this Year. For that special day I will make very old wish come true and obtained a CURTA calculator. I was blown when I saw such a thing once during my vocational apprenticeship when I was a teen. Since that day in late summer 1991, I always had an eye open in antique stores or flea markets, but NEVER I saw one again in real life. Until today. She arrived. The first time I have one in my own hands. After unboxing and checking all, I have reboxed her again, until my birthday. Will be hard some months, but I've waited more than 3 decades, some few more months can't intimidate me. I'm so excited! Btw: this Curta came from the official Swiss Curta service point. She's is in original metal screw can, made in 1956 and have been completely cleaned and serviced. It all moves and sounds so smooth. An orchestra of 571 pieces all working perfectly together! Just brilliant. P.s. As I turned the crank, the direction lever of the turn-counter was in the setting for division calculating (the "opposite" direction) that's why the Curta counted downwards while processing additions. And when I tuened the reset ring, I didn't set it correctly back after. Beginner's faults. After the Video, I quickly managed to get all back as it should and after a few minutes I had the feeling for the device and was able to do basic calculations. gWdKhLxHIcg |
