| Video Discription | Daggerdale has released for the Xbox 360 and PC. If you ever played any of the old D & D Heroes, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, etc... for the Original Xbox or PS2, then this game will feel very familiar. It is a straight up Hack and Slash dungeon Crawler. It uses the Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition rules which means that it is a bit better suited for a video game than the old style D&D rules. You kill stuff, pick up loot, equip to kill even bigger stuff... rinse, repeat... I am enjoying the game so far, though it does require Co-Op play and teamwork if you wnat to be able to get through many areas without constantly dying and starting over... The three top things that cause me grief in this game are: - The save system. If you save, the game saves you current loot, experience, gold, etc... but not your progress on your current quest. When you continue, you will be back to right before you accepted the quest. But luckily, you will have your loot and gold, etc... as long as you saved first. - The UI. The HUD in this game actually takes up a good deal of screen space which isn't as noticeable until you decide to play couch Co-Op (Split Screen multiplayer) with someone. The HUD elements can make the screen feel a bit claustr\phobic. - The camera. The camera angles in the game are great and you can move the camera around for viewing all around your character. The problem is that you actually end up having to move it often due to items like buildings, towers, arches, etc... that cover the camera's view of the player. There are times where you will be walking into a tight corridor, and suddenly you can't see the player or the area around them due to some structure completely blocking the camera. So you have to rotate it in order to see what's going on. Other than those items, this game is a great treat for those wanting more hack and slash dungeon crawling action. yinoNeUjQDc |
