Usually we call this as Acanthosis Nigricans, this is usually seen after weight gain and it is usually seen after sudden weight gain , it can be prenatally or teenage or after lockdown or after we gain too much weight, we experience is pigmentation on the neck area. It may or may not have pigmentation on the underarm or the groin area and the neck area. So the most important thing is when you see pigmentation of the neck area is please pay attention to your diet. Increase your exercise and reduce the amount of junk food that is consumed. Second thing is please remember your neck is a photoexposed area. So use a sunscreen in this area. In our clinic, we use some chemical peels that are a little stronger like the TCA chemical peel, which will exfoliate peel or something stronger like the fractional carbondioxide laser, followed by retinol peel to reduce pigmentation at home if you are feeding setting I would say to pay attention to your diet and exercise and you can nowadays get leave on chemical peels that you can apply on your skin. It may contain glycolic acids that can be applied once a week or once in 10 days. Dermatologists may recommend it.
