Richard's death was a shock - still to this day, fans are invested in Richard and Camille as a couple. They deserved a happy ever after. Death in Paradise continues, but is not the same without Richard and Camille - they had so much potential, romantically. They had a deep connection with each other - Camille understood Richard and his insecurities, Richard grew to trust Camille professionally and on a personal level. Never felt so attached to fictional characters as I have with them. Their return in Series 10 was brief, but hopefully not the last time they'll appear on the show. They are sorely missed.
