The heavily tattooed former All-star arrived in Pyongyang on Monday for his fourth trip to North Korea in 12 months, together with an assembled team of other former NBA players including Doug Christie, Craig Hodges and Charles Smith, for the exhibition game. North Korea state television broadcast video on Thursday of Dennis Rodman meeting Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju ahead of a basketball game to honour the leader's birthday. In the video, Rodman can be seen in a conservative grey suit smiling and laughing as he meets the couple and exchanges words. Following the meeting, Rodman later sang Happy Birthday to the North Korean leader at the basketball game. Rodman is the highest-profile American to meet Kim Jong-un, who inherited power after the death of his father in late 2011. Rodman has said he is not a statesman and instead is seeking only to build cultural connections with the North through basketball that may help improve relations between Pyongyang and Washington.
