| Video Discription | Many at time patients ask what is the most recommended type of dental implants. Basically the dental implantsare the screws, the titanium screws which are inserted into the jaw bone from which we take the anchor and fix the teeth. So we prefer the root form implant, the cylindrical or the conical shape of the dental implants which probably try to copy the type of the root form and we try to copy the anatomical form of the teeth and we try to keep the dental implant in place an artificial root or a metal root inside the bone for which we place the crown onto it for the tooth. So most recommended type is the conical type or the cylindrical type of dental implants. There are also other kind of dental implants that are available. They are also called as the basal implants. They place the implants into the base of the bon when the height of the bone is very less and they want to cover the more surface area of the bone for anchorage. So these require certain special surgical techniques and are difficult case levels. So basically we screw the implants and fix it. We get the press fit implants, where we make a small access hole into the bone and try to press fit the implant. We have the long screws or the zygomatic implants where we try to take the support of the bone which is below the eye, which is the zygomatic bone, we take the support of the zygoma, which is also a very hard bone and we place a very long screw which is around 5cm,and we take the support of that bone and we take the support of the pterygoid bone, which is therein the upper jaw.
