The trails are accessible throughout the year and take you through a lovely landscape. Triund Hill lies at the height of 2842m (9342 ft) above sea level, in the lap of Dhauladhars. In order to embark upon your Triund trek, you need to reach Mcleodganj first. From Mcleodganj you can head towards Dharamkot and later to Gallu Devi Temple. You can choose to begin your Triund Trek either at Galu Devi Temple or from Dharamkot itself. The trek is fairly easy even for beginners the trails are fairly even and well defined. Also, the trail isn't that steep except the last couple of kilometres. There are a number of small shops selling water, drinks, and Maggi on the way right up till the Triund Hill. Best time to visit: Although the trail is accessible throughout the year, Triund Trek is at its best in April and May when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. The trail is beautiful during that time with trees covered in red colour. Triund trek in winters is a sight to behold. Although the track becomes a little difficult during peak winters because of the snowfall, the experience is amazing. The entire hill is covered with snow and it looks like a winter wonderland. If you plan to undertake the Triund trek in winters, make sure you are prepared mentally and this time comes with its own set of challenges. You need to be careful walking over the accumulated ice and snow and also be prepared to handle the extremely cold nights. The upside of Triund trek in winters is that you beat all the crowd and have the whole meadow to yourself.
