Especially if you make them to sell at craft fairs or as last-minute gifts, you need to factor in your working time which increases the actual cost. So I've come up with the fastest plushie method possible which is not only easy & fun but also cost-efficient and great for using up random socks. Difficulty: EASY Fluffy socks - http://amzn.to/1FwCmTk Polyester stuffing - http://amzn.to/1Ke62Wy Nail polish: Ciate - Members Only Of course, if you're just starting out it then may longer to complete but I'm confident that anyone should be able to make one between 30-60mins, which is super fast for a sewing project! I recommend using fluffy socks because the fabric is very stretchy and good at hiding thread in case your stitching isn't perfectly straight.
