I thought it would be fun to show these so people know that DIY projects often fail for YouTubers as well. I also explain a bit about how I come up with ideas. I usually begin with a breakdown of the basic technique (eg. DIY lip balm = wax + oil, DIY slime = PVA + borax + alkaline ph) and then I start thinking about which ingredients I can substitute to create something new. There are considerations along the way such as what can be used to give colour, what can give scent, whether the DIY needs to be food or skin safe etc. These four DIY ideas were actually ones where I was quite convinced would work. That's why I actually have footage of them because I usually won't waste time setting up my filming equipment if I weren't 80-90% confident that a DIY will be successful. So it just goes to show that some things never go to plan XP. However that is part of the fun of crafting...even if something fails, it's still taught you something useful about what doesn't work and why. For instance I didn't know that pH played such significant role in DIY slime making but after testing it out with acidic liquids, I know it's definitely an important factor to take into consideration.
