| Video Discription | Speaking out about what no one else has… Dress to Impress is the Roblox game that's exploded in popularity over the past year. It's fun, easy to get started with, and with new themes every 5 minutes, you can play it for hours on end. But in the midst of all this attention, I want us to all pause quickly and talk about what no one else dares to address – the blatant issues with the game that are hiding in plain sight. Today, I will be addressing 3 of them, and reflecting on the game as a whole. I want to be clear that from a developer’s point of view, I understand there are technical limitations and a busy dev team that make it difficult (but not impossible) to incorporate some features that would help resolve many of these issues. However, it’s important to be critical about how the lack of these “difficult-to-solve” features in the game may be implicitly communicated to impressionable, young audiences. And, I’m not hating on dress to impress-- I think its visuals and fashion are quite innovative. I myself love hopping on whenever I have free time to see what outfits people from all over the world are cooking up. But I think that with great power comes great responsibility. Dress to Impress is such a leading game, and it still has the opportunity to positively impact the lives of young gamers, especially girls, all over the world. Will it use its influence for good?
