This letter was in regards to the ‘discrepancies in the voting data released by the ECI, and non-publishing of registered voters. ECI then responded to the letter. ECI in its response to Kharge’s letter has rejected all the allegations.ECI said that utterance from Mallikarjun Kharge could have a negative impact on voter participation and could be seen as a means to deter an electorate from exercising their franchise or demoralizing the huge number of election staff and machinery. ECI has advised Kharge to exercise caution and refrain from making such statements.
