This historic city has so many nooks & crannies to explore so there was no way we could see them all, however we did our best to cram as many highlights of Edinburgh into this video as we could! We started our day in Edinburgh by having a great cup of coffee at a small tug boat called The Watershed On The Canal. This eclectic little coffee shop sits on the Union Canal & provides a great start to anyones day. From there we walked over to the Elephant Cafe. The Elephant Cafe is known most for being the location that JK Rowling wrote a portion of the early Harry Potter books. Unfortunately it was closed due to a fire in Fall 2021, but it's a must-see for all Potterheads visiting Edinburgh. Speaking of Harry Potter, behind the cafe is a small cemetery with the grave of Thomas Riddel, who's grave served as inspiration for Rowling's character Lord Voldemort, or Tom Riddle. This is another fun spot to stop & see while in the area. From there we made our way to Arthurs Seat. Arthurs Seat is a towering hill overlooking Edinburgh & offers a spectacular view of the city. We made sure to pack our lunch so that we could have a super special lunch overlooking this gorgeous city. It's a bit of a hike, but the payoff is so worth it! From there we walked down to the city center to explore the Royal Mile. This street serves as the main artery of the center of Edinburgh & leads all the way up to the imposing Edinburgh Castle. Along this road there are plenty of restaurants, shops, & cool experiences to enjoy that are uniquely Edinburgh. When thinking of what to do in Edinburgh, Scotland, one of the first things that will be recommended is the Edinburgh Castle. This is for a good reason. Edinburgh Castle provides a great glimpse into the past & shows what life was like during Medieval times. You'll learn a great deal about previous Scottish royalty, as well as how prisoners were treated. You can also tour the Scottish War Museum & see the Scottish Crown Jewels! We finished our day in Edinburgh by visiting a cool place called Hoot The Redeemer. We love ending our vlogs at places that are unique & eclectic, & Hoot The Redeemer embodies those adjectives perfectly.
