The campaign uses the metaphor of folkrock to show that it is upto each generation to take a culture forward, and create his or her niche as part of the movement. The Bengali folkrock movement is old. Some say, it even started off before Bob Dylan popularised folk music in the West. However, it takes a new generation to take the genre forward. Coincidentally, here in this campaign for 'Ei Samay', we see celebrated lead drummer Gabu, taking forward the legacy of his father, the legendary Gautam Chattopadhyay, who was one of the pioneers of the folkrock movement in Bengal.
