I know, really obvious, right? A few additional pointers: *Be concrete. Talk about very specific things you plan to do, and only those you know you can do. *Tell a story. Even a very short one is good. Stories are highly memorable, so pick one you want to be remembered for. Funny or serious or metaphorical, fit it to your tone. *Practice. Literally, give your entire speech at least 3x before the day. Say it at least once alone, and at least once in front of a good friend or two. Better yet, practice in the same room where you'll later speak. *Smile big. It might feel fake at first, but it's really hard to read someone’s expression from the audience. Pretend everyone is smiling back at you, and just grin. *Don't self-deprecate. Do not put yourself down in front of everyone. If something awkward happens, acknowledge it with humour and keep going: “Whoops almost dropped the mic, a little early for that! Ok, as I was saying…” Confidence and Smile is the key while the delivery of the pitch. Just go on stage, visualizing your victory, which will definitely boost your confidence and ensure you have an edge over others.
