More than 361 elephants were killed in 2019, according to official figures from the Department of Wildlife Conservation. More elephants have been killed in Sri Lanka than in any other country in the world. අලි මිනිස් ගැටුම (HEC) ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඇතැම් ග්‍රාමීය ප්‍රදේශවල විශාල තර්ජනයකි. මෙම ගැටුමේදී මිනිසුන්ට සහ අලින්ට බොහෝ විට තම ජීවිත හා දේපළ අහිමි වේ. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වසරකට අලි ඇතුන් 250 ක් සහ මිනිසුන් 80 ක් පමණ මිය යති. බොහෝ අලි පැටවුන් මරා දමනු ලබන්නේ "හක්කා පටාස්" (හක්කා පටාස්/හක්කා පටාස්) ලෙස හඳුන්වන දඩයම් ක්‍රමය මගිනි. වනජීවී සංරක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නිල වාර්තාවලට අනුව 2019 වසරේ අලි ඇතුන් 361කට වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක් මරා දමා ඇත.ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ලෝකයේ වෙනත් කිසිදු ප්‍රාන්තයකට වඩා වැඩිම අලි මරණ සංඛ්‍යාවක් අභිබවා ගොස් ඇත. @srilankandiscovery |
