| Video Discription | * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Dallas, Texas — On July 4, 24 at 1:00 a.m. Dallas Police responded to a robbery in progress call in the 2900 block of South Lancaster Road. The preliminary investigation determined a 911 call was placed reporting the robbery of an illegal game room and Witnesses at the scene. Police officer Ruben Martinez was working in a covert capacity, conducting surveillance nearby and responded to a parking lot near the game room. Officer Martinez saw the suspects run from the scene. One suspect approached him, pointing a gun at officer Martinez. Officer Martinez did not have time to put on his ballistic vest or activate his body-worn camera. Officer Martinez fired at the suspect, 34-year-old Timothy Jefferson. Officer Martinez then put on his vest and activated his his body-worn camera, which partially captured the shooting. Responding officer officers performed CPR on Jefferson until Dallas-Fire Rescue (DFR) arrived. Jefferson was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. No officers were injured. a handgun was recovered from the ground, near Jefferson. A second suspect 21-year-old Kyvarian Banks was located by officers nearby. A third suspect 20-year-old Dominique Lee-Bolin, was found in the game room parking lot and taken into custody. A four suspect ran from the scene.
