| Video Discription | Here is the short story about a very popular band from former Yugoslavia that had a great chance to become a "world-famous" band. Formed in 1977 Wild Strawberries (serbian/croatian Divlje Jagode) is one of the most influential rock'n'roll bands in former Yugoslavia which still exists today. In the 1980's band signed a contract with British record company Logo Records under the name Wild Strawberries. In 1986 they started recording an English language album with new bass guitarist Zlatan Čehić. Eight of their old songs were rerecorded with English language lyrics and the album featured two new songs, "Fire on the Water" and "Wild Boys". Album featured keyboardist Don Airey as guest musician. At this time Lipovača was approached to join Whitesnake as lead guitarist, but refused focusing on Wild Strawberries career. Adopting a glam metal outlook, the band performed at The Marquee and a number of English clubs. The pilot single with song "Sheila" was released. Album "Wild Strawberries" appeared in 1987 and was soon released in Sweden, Germany, Italy and Netherlands. The album was well accepted among the audience.They had another english album ready but being suspicious about Wild Strawberries' success in Great Britain, their frontman, Alen Islamovic went back to Yugoslavia and joined another popular rock band named Bijelo Dugme. This resluted in the album release being delayed and since they could not find a new vocalist in a short period of time, their contract with Logo Records got cancelled. The album was relased as Lipovaca's solo album in 1993 with the name "Zele - Magic Love". However, as I mentioned above, the band still exists today with somewhat changed line up. After the release of "Magic Love" they have recorded three softer, ballad-oriented albums. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PS.
