These traps use a non-toxic liquid bait to lure fruit flies, trapping them and preventing them from breeding. These traps also boast a red apple design that lets you control flies inconspicuously without alerting guests. First, determine which areas fruit flies are most active in and remove competing food sources. You’ll need to clean floors, countertops, and other surfaces by sweeping or wiping them down with water and ensure all trashcans in the area seal properly. To use Terro Fruit Fly Traps, remove the cap from the lure bottle, insert the tip into the center opening, and empty half of the bottle, or about 15 milliliters, into the trap. Place traps close to where fruit flies are breeding. Set them behind or underneath counters, sinks, or dishwashers, or place them near unrefrigerated fruits and vegetables. The non-toxic lure will attract fruit flies for up to 45 days. After 45 days, you can refill the trap with the remaining lure for a total of 90 days of control.
