| Video Discription | Form 944 is designed so the smallest employers (those whose annual liability for social security, Medicare, and withheld federal income taxes is $1,000 or less) will file and pay these taxes only once a year instead of every quarter. It is estimated that employers which paid wages of less than $4,100 will fall within this group. Employers list the same information on this form as they would on Form 941. The filing deadline is at the end of January for the previous year. In this scenario, originally employer anticipated very low payroll, so IRS assigned him as 944 filler.
