This technical Aly formation was used by two top-five players including 1st and 5th place in the arena last season. Let's check it out and see what makes it so good! It has: 1 Ghost Assassin 2 Goblikazes 2 Rhino Knights 3 Sacred Swordsmen 4 Meteor Golems 4 Magic Apprentices 4 Pirate Ships 8 Stone Golems 8 Nuns 13 Voodoo Dolls Top players in the arena have to deal with getting attacked by Selene a lot so it is assumed and it appears like this is an Anti-Selene formation that works by slowing things down and causing RNG. We’re starting to see a lot of formations with nuns positioned more towards the front and in this formation, they are in the third and fourth row. Nuns are placed here to slow down the troops behind them because they stand in place and are not very mobile which makes it an obstacle for anything but hell jailers to go through them. There is also one ghost assassin on the same side as Aly which is assumed to be used to negate Selene’s first active skill and distract enemy units. It is likely that an attacker will attack Aly from the same side so having the assassin and even the stone golem on the same side as Aly is potentially beneficial. And, a lot of us don’t have 13 level 10 voodoo dolls, but we can look at this formation to study their troop placement and employ some of the tactics they used.
