| Video Discription | Much never-to-be-repeated footage of the Loop’s operation for the first 31 years after reconstruction before the operator of the railroad changed. Few railroads in the world have crossed over themselves. This scenic railroad not only crosses over itself but makes two and one half complete circles in just a few miles! Colorado's first mountain railroad climbed the few miles from Georgetown to Silver Plume via a tortuous track that crossed over itself on a 100' high and 300' long bridge. These narrow-gauge tracks were ripped out in the 1930s and the high bridge scrapped. No one thought that trains would ever circle the loop again but you’ll enjoy both Shays and rod engines crossing the newly restored Devil’s Gate Bridge in this production. A unique partnership of a private firm and the Colorado Historical Society rebuilt this majestic railroad including a million dollar reconstruction of the high bridge.
