Transcription Daniel: So Dustin, something we've gotten a lot of questions on lately is glass railing systems. We've got a really great example of one right here. What can you tell us about this? Dustin: So, glass railings aren't really new, right? Essentially we've come up with better hardware, better ways to mount it, and I think people are becoming more creative about where they want to put them. Daniel: And it sounds like a lot of people are bringing glass railing systems into their homes now. They're not just for commercial application anymore. So where are you seeing these glass railing systems being installed? Dustin: We're seeing them in crazy places: around swimming pools, enclosing back patios, stairwells. And in a lot of places folks are doing an open floor plan and they're doing a loft style like this that gives them the ability to close off a room with a glass railing. Daniel: One of the great things about this is that it makes the whole room feel very open. Now what about the hardware? How is this actually mounted? Dustin: So there's multiple ways. We've seen people use u-channel to actually set the glass down in. They make stand-offs that extend off of either the balcony or hand rail. And a lot of folks are actually making custom mounts and custom brackets to support this. Whether it's around a pool, back patio, or off of a second story deck. Daniel: And the hardware, it can come in any different finishes that the person wants to match with the rest of their home's style? Dustin: For sure. Just like every other aspect of our industry, we've gotten really good at matching whatever it is that's around there. So you pick the color and ultimately we can get it. And if not, especially with this type of stuff, we can powdercoat and get it to match just about any color. Daniel: So let's talk about some of the options for the glass itself. Do people have the same options as they would with a shower where you can get it frosted? Dustin: For sure, yeah. You can do pattered glass, you can do clear glass, we can even do the printing on the glass too. So you've got different options for the privacy features that you want. Or if you want a decorative piece, we can go with some of the decorative options. Daniel: Right. And this can be a laminated piece, right? So you can actually print inside of the glass. Dustin: Yup, or you can get the laminated colored now. So you can even end up with a colored glass, almost any color you can think of. Daniel: Very cool. So this can be a very custom element for somebody's home. Dustin: Absolutely. Change the entire appearance and make the home what it is for the client. DH5VBjpKKTY |
