Christina shows us around Canyon Gate, which is one of the first residential golf course communities in Las Vegas. Located about 20 minutes west of the Las Vegas Strip, this guard-gated luxury community is more centrally located than many Las Vegas neighborhoods, while remaining outside the congestion of the downtown area. The community encompasses 320 acres of well-established homes built in the 1980s and 90s, and features large lots with beautiful, mature landscaping.
The Canyon Gate community is built around the Canyon Gate Country Club and 18-hole championship golf course. Designed by Tom Robinson, the course features tranquil lagoons, waterfalls, and lush fairways, all blended carefully with the native, desert landscape. Members can also hone their skills with lessons and clinics, enjoy a diverse calendar of tournaments and events, and find gear at the club’s fully stocked pro shop.
The Canyon Gate Country Club features additional amenities, including a state-of-the-art, modern fitness facility, bocce ball and pickleball courts, and five lighted tennis courts. Kellogg Zaher is also home to the Darling Memorial Tennis Center, featuring stadium seating and 23 tennis courts.

Residents can visit the many shops of Summerlin to the west, including Boca Park, Canyon Pointe, and Tivoli Village, all within a 15-minute drive. And, if residents want to stay close to home, there are more than 20 restaurants within 5 minutes of the community gates, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings at the Canyon Gate Country Club.
Canyon Gate is an excellent community to consider if you’re looking for a high-end, family-friendly community in the Las Vegas area. There are relatively few homes on the market in this smaller, older community, but when homes do come available, they’re a great option for golfing enthusiasts interested in a secure, guard-gated neighborhood. Home prices in Canyon Gate are on the luxury end of the Las Vegas communities. You can find homes in the upper $700s, but most are over $1 million with a median listing price of $1.2 million. HOA dues range from about $300 to $400 per month.
