| Video Discription | (Part 2) STEPS TO ACCESS THE VVT VALVE SOLENOID - HONDA 3.5 LEFT FRONT OF ENGINE BY THE DIPSTICK - 1- Unbolt/ remove the 14mm (wrench size) bolt attaching the wiring harness to ground at the back of the head. 2- Unplug the wiring connectors to the 3 spark plug coils and the (2) wiring connectors to the VVT Valve. 3- Remove the small hose spring clamps and pull off the hose just above the VVT Valve. 4- Unclip the two clips holding the wiring tray to the black metal rail. 5- Loosen the rear 10mm (wrench size) bolt attaching the metal rail on the valve cover, then fully remove the front (10mm) bolt. 6- Rotate the front end of the metal rail down and under the wiring tray to provide access to the VVT Valve. 7- Lift the wiring tray up to gain access to the VVT Valve. 8- With this access provided, now you are able to remove the three securing bolts on the top section of the VVT Valve. As you lift the top section, be careful not to loose the two metal aligning sleeves at the bolts at each end of the top section which align the two sections. *FOR HONDA MODELS USING VVT VALVE 15810-R70-A04 - This Odyssey is a 2008 Touring Model with brittle gaskets in the VVT Solenoid Spool causing considerable oil leaking down the side and front of the engine (area of the alternator and camshaft timing belt) and dripping of the bottom near the serpentine belt tensioner. *Honda VVT Solenoid Spools are known to develop oil leaks with age. The VVT Solenoid Spool is generally located on the head of the engine. In this case, it is right at the oil dipstick. Various vehicle models and engines will have different types of VVT Solenoid configurations. This one has another VVT on the rear engine head at the opposite corner. *The Touring Model may have a different VVT Solenoid than the LX and EX Models. Use your vehicle VIN number to look up the correct VVT parts for your vehicle.
